Roadside Carinderia Food

Roadside Carinderia Food

Yet another long overdue post. This has been sitting in my Drafts folder for monthS. So anyway. Roadside Carinderia (food stall) in Zamboanga City is quite famous among the locals. They serve really good food, at an affordable price. In fact, they’re so famous the carinderia now has 2 branches in the city. They usually serve the same dishes, but we have our own personal favorites at home.

This, this one right here is our absolute favorite! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Beef strips in yummy “bistek” (beef steak) sauce. Not too salty, with a hint of spice. The strips of meat are oh so tender, juicy and so flavorful! I can’t get enough of these. Each order costs P80. Price is just right as the servings are generous and really, the taste is just oh so worth it!

Up next are my cousins’ favorites, the bopis and the laing. Now, I don’t eat these so I don’t much about how they taste, but according to my cousin, the laing is cooked just right, and tastes really good. Coming from a good cook like her, I’d take her word for it. The bopis is quite spicy, but that’s how it’s supposed to taste, right?

Here’s the laing:

And this one here is the bopis:

I just remembered posting about these as I took Sanjo with me to the market earlier and passed by the carinderia here in Valenzuela. Too bad none of them seem to be like Roadside.
