Our first stop when we got to Cebu City was Casa Verde in The Terraces, Ayala. I have heard so much about their stellar baby back ribs and of course, I wanted to see for myself what all the hype is about. We got there just before 12noon, and the place was already starting to get packed. We were lucky to get seats inside, as the ones outside aren’t really very appealing with sun shining high and mighty. The restaurant’s ambiance was very cozy. Reminds me of TGIF.
We ordered Brian’s Pork Ribs (baby back ribs) and the tenderloin steak with mashed potatoes. We received our orders in less than 10 minutes, and that’s fast considering they were serving a full house. And I was surprised because the servings weren’t miniscule as I would have imagined. Boy, they sure did not disappoint.
The baby back ribs were superb. Tangy, sweet juicy goodness all the way to the bone. The meat was cooked really well, and very tender as the meat literally fell off the bone.
The steak I ordered was OK. It was just good, but nothing to rave about. It is tender and flavorful, but there’s just something missing. I don’t know exactly what, but anyway, it was good.
I will definitely be going back to Casa Verde for those wonderful ribs. Oh, and their Panama Iced Teas were wonderful too. Sweet and very refreshing. Even my little boy loved it! And he isn’t even fond of iced teas.
